What Compels Us to Create?

Dance, art, and music were the first things humans did to tell each other stories, even before language. And some of it was to entertain and have fun. It's how we created society, starting small, and growing into large groups, turning to each other for stories that entertained and shared knowledge. Now as much as ever, if you can tell a story, you can change the world.

We are born with a creative spirit, an urge to explore and experiment, that is often snuffed out by school and jobs. Without some luck and guidance, most of us come to believe we aren't creative.

Over time, without care and nurturing, your creative spirit will wither and die. You see it all over: people who do the same job, days after day, then go home and watch movies and television but never think of doing anything creative for themselves.

But you don't have to let that happen.

With a short daily practice, we can tap into a creative abundance that will bring us joy, help us solve problems, and lead us along a path of a more interesting life.

Learning how to write a cohesive sentence, a compelling paragraph, and a motivating email can unlock opportunities at your work. Exploring art, music, dance and storytelling can unleash your potential for a fulfilling life.

So if you're tired of watching others create and you want to finally join in the fun, sign up for the Renewable Creativity newsletter and I'll send you my Short But Comprehensive Guide to Unlocking Your Creative Potential.

OUR FOUNDER

Mickey Hadick is a Michigan-based novelist and humor writer. He is a student of the art and craft of storytelling, and an expert on productive creativity, web publishing, and dirty limericks.

Something of a multipotentialite, he messes around with computers a lot, works in digital marketing, plays ukulele and recently started cartooning and tap dancing.

Mickey has worked for damn-near 40 years in technology and is currently a webmaster for an insurance company.

Working full-time forced him to become a student of productivity and efficiency to find—or make—time for his writing. But he also went on a journey of personal development, shedding as many bad habits, biases and limiting beliefs as possible. His creative practice is a combination of meditation, journaling, planning, and storytelling that brings him a fulfilling joy.

His hope is for you to find a fulfilling joy, as well.

Helping people tap into their creativity to live más.
